Colour is the cheapest asset control you have
Returnable packaging leaks. A distinctive colour and a moulded-in mark cost almost nothing and recover more crates than any tracking system we have seen.
Every returnable circuit leaks. Crates end up in the wrong yard, on the wrong lorry, or holding somebody else’s stock in somebody else’s warehouse.
The cheapest fix is not a tracking system. It is making the crate obviously yours: a colour nobody else in your region uses, and a logo moulded into the wall where it cannot wear off.
Barcodes and sequential numbering are worth adding on top when a circuit genuinely needs auditing. But they solve a different problem, and they do not work at fifty metres across a yard.
